wait...what?

Media has been a huge part of the American culture. One cannot go a day without someone talking about what they saw on TV, heard on the radio, or read on the internet. While in and of itself, it is not a bad thing, but how deep are Americans in it?

On that day, we were subjected to constant repetitions of those same videos over and over. We were mesmerized by them. Over and over they played, and we could only meekly ask, "why?"

Following these videos, there were news reporters telling us that Al Queda were responsible. "Why?" The president answered that one for them. "They are evil freedom haters who hate America."

This sounds like a game or an action-superhero plot. In these types of shows, the villains are evil, and wish to do evil. Any person with common sense can tell you that the world is not black and white like the TV shows we watch. Yet... Americans believed them. For a moment we all believed that the world was black and white, and they hated us, just because they were evil.

Do you remember when it was reported that the fire fighters found “pockets of fire?” Remember when they said that since there are pockets of fire, there maybe pockets of people. Think about that for a moment. Is that sencerio realistic? Is it even plausible?

No, it’s not.

Yet, the Americans believed, hoped, and prayed that such a thing could have been true. Why? They didn't think of it on their own. The media told them and instilled that false hope.
